Fishing | Katie has been fishing the waters around Craig for almost 15 years, and can put you on the fish—salmon, ling cod, halibut and rockfish. Our ocean charters are a great option for smaller groups of 1 to 4. Katie is especially fond of showing women and kids a great day on the water. We are also a State of Alaska licensed Big Game Transporter.
We provide saltwater transport to almost any destination in our 21' Silver Streak landing craft. In 2018, Katie and partners transported a group of 6 Wilderness kayakers (pictured below) to the south POW Wilderness area. We can help you plan such an expedition.
Karta River Wilderness Area | We provide transport to the Karta River trailhead; the Karta River Cabin is 50’ up the beach, and the 5-mile long trail along the absolutely stunning Karta River begins here. Two other cabins, Karta Lake Cabin and Salmon Lake Cabin, are located along the trail. The Karta River area showcases old growth trees, and provides world-class steelhead and salmon fishing opportunities. It is a Wilderness area, so restrictions on what you can bring and use apply; Katie can tell you all you need to know and rent you the gear you’ll need, including water filters, sleeping bags, and more.
Point Armagura Cabin | This saltwater cabin is about a 30-minute boat ride from Craig, and is a fantastic place to base from for kayaking, fishing, whale watching.
Things to Know | Reservations for cabins are required and are independent of your transport to / from the cabin. Full cabin descriptions and reservations available at recreation.gov. Our van seats 1-6 comfortably but we may be able to accommodate larger groups - ask us! We are permitted to bring you to many locations not listed here.
